Hooray! OPM has accumulated approximately 8,589 lbs. of food as of 8/24/2009 which exceeds our goal of 7,645 lbs. Yay OPM!

We are asking Federal employees to donate food for hungry families this summer. Federal workers put a man on the moon; we can meet this challenge too!

Our partner agencies are collecting non-perishable food at their offices and other locations. Contact your agency coordinator for more information.

Why are we doing this?

Food banks across the National Capital Region and around the country are facing severe shortages of non-perishable items, just as summer leaves more children without school nutrition programs. Federal employees nationwide are stepping up to meet this challenge by gathering 1,000,000 pounds of food for families in need this summer. We hope you'll join us!

During the month of July and August, 2009, the Miami Sector, including Miami Headquarters, Dania Beach, Marathon, West Palm Beach, and Orlando Stations, donated 2386 pounds (an average of approximately 24 pounds per person) of food items for the National “Warm Up to Giving” Food Drive. more
